This show is always a source of inspiration, and if you’ve never been there, I’d highly recommend a future visit. Leading technical materials suppliers use this venue to introduce new materials for high performance gloves, apparel and sports gear, and manufacturers show off new product lines.

I wanted to share some of the highlights that have really excited us as we head into a new season of product development for our customers.

They’ve seen the brochures, talked to friends, read the online rating.

Should they choose the school where they will be spending the next 4 years, without a visit?

mountain bike gloveWe visited several motorcycle glove dealerships recently.

I have to be candid: the workmanship on some of the gloves I observed at retail was not good -- mainly at the lower price points, but not exclusively.

After all, quality has a huge impact on customer satisfaction with your brand.

The best time to insure that you get the quality you need? Before production starts!

2nd_supplierTo make gloves well, it takes special skills and experience at all points during the process.

Some companies have the necessary capabilities within their ranks, others do not.

It may sound strange coming from a glove manufacturer, but outsourcing can be the right solution for some companies and not others.

If you are developing a line of gloves and face a ”make or buy” glove making decision, here are some arguments pro and con, for outsourcing vs. going direct.

Price? Fair.  Quality? Meh.
